Mises Meetup in Birmingham, Alabama
**This Event is Full**
Join Jeff Deist and Professor Patrick Newman from the Mises Institute for a special meetup gathering in Birmingham, Alabama on Saturday, June 6, 2020. We’ll meet upstairs at the beautiful Avondale Brewing Company (once a secret bordello), 204 41st Street, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Central time. The registration fee is only $25, and includes a barbecue lunch—plus there will be plenty of delicious beers on tap for you to try! Note: The bar is only taking credit cards at this time, no cash. Attendees placing bar orders are requested to wear masks.
Attendees will enjoy a no-holds barred discussion of the economy after the Coronavirus shutdown and George Floyd protests. Are we facing another Great Depression? Can there be a V shaped recovery, or is this wishful thinking? What will all the new money and credit created by Congress and the Fed mean for the dollar? What kind of economic mess will Trump or Biden inherit in 2021? How far will Fed Chair Powell go to keep markets propped up? And how can you protect yourself and your savings?
This event will include candid discussion plus Q and A in a small group setting, so make plans to join us now! And we’ll have copies of Dr. Newman’s edited books The Progressive Era and Conceived in LIberty, Volume Five for him to sign.
Parking: There is street parking and a nearby paid lot behind Avondale Common House.
Special thanks to Mark Walker for sponsoring this event.
