The Economist certainly do not have a Austrian outlook on monetary issues, as they detest deflation just as much as other non-Austrians , but their latest article about the extraordinarily loose monetary policies of the United States, and to a lesser extent also other western countries is quite interesting. They note that it is bizarre to have a 1% short-term interest rate when consumer price inflation is more than 3% and also that aside from consumer price inflation the loose monetary policies will fuel asset price bubbles.
