Follow the Political Markets

Iowa Electronic Markets are getting more attention this year, and it is hard to imagine that they would be less accurate than the polls. Here is the pricing graph for the winner-take-all presidential match, which today shows the race tightening but Bush still winning. With poll frustration abounding, IEM is getting lots of news attention. Salon is running an entire series on the subject, with part 4 appearing two days ago (the author is increasingly skeptical, though because I don’t subscribe. it is hard to tell why). The author of today’s (wonderful!) daily article on the spectrum has previously written on the topic.

What is the Mises Institute?

The Mises Institute is a non-profit organization that exists to promote teaching and research in the Austrian School of economics, individual freedom, honest history, and international peace, in the tradition of Ludwig von Mises and Murray N. Rothbard.

Non-political, non-partisan, and non-PC, we advocate a radical shift in the intellectual climate, away from statism and toward a private property order. We believe that our foundational ideas are of permanent value, and oppose all efforts at compromise, sellout, and amalgamation of these ideas with fashionable political, cultural, and social doctrines inimical to their spirit.
