Hey, Ramesh, Over Here!

Ramesh Ponnuru, writing on NRO’s Blog, says:

I’m trying to figure out if there exists a blog dedicated to Austrian-school economics. The question arises because of the long op-ed in the Wall Street Journal today, which seems (to someone who studied the subject several years ago) to caricature the Austrian theory of the business cycle. I figured someone must have a blog that would answer things like this. There seem to be blogs of every conceivable orientation, after all. Anyway, e-mail me at rponnuru@nationalreview.com if you’re aware of any.

Short answers to this piece have already appeared here and here. What’s the best source for deeper study? The Austrian Economics Study Guide on Business Cycles. You can Google it. Or for something short, see this Business Cycle Primer.

What is the Mises Institute?

The Mises Institute is a non-profit organization that exists to promote teaching and research in the Austrian School of economics, individual freedom, honest history, and international peace, in the tradition of Ludwig von Mises and Murray N. Rothbard.

Non-political, non-partisan, and non-PC, we advocate a radical shift in the intellectual climate, away from statism and toward a private property order. We believe that our foundational ideas are of permanent value, and oppose all efforts at compromise, sellout, and amalgamation of these ideas with fashionable political, cultural, and social doctrines inimical to their spirit.
