The Republicans are quite clearly shaking in their boots — if Ron Paul is no threat, why do they need to ban him? It’s because he connects with real traditional conservatives, and those who might be re-evaluating the US’ war against Iraq. At the moment, he also connects much more with the American populace, at large, than pro-war fascists like Giuliani.
In Germany, politicians like Giuliani, McCain, and Hillary Clinton might be banned for being too neo-Nazi, if the ban on Nazi’s was taken seriously (that is, interpretted in policy, not merely name).
