I guess the cat is out of the bag, so to speak.
Now that the FDA has effectively banned caffeine-laced alcoholic beverages, to be consistent, it will have to take the next logical step of banning the concurrent consumption of caffeine and alcohol, regardless of how the two are mixed.
If indeed “combinations of caffeine and alcohol … pose a public-health concern,” the FDA will have to ban the sale of the two in the same establishment. So barista and barmaid must no longer work side by side.
Then, as consumers of the admixture simply move from bar to coffee shop and back again, the FDA will have to ban the sale of one to those under the influence of the other.
Finally, big G will have to ban caffeine and alcohol, entirely.
There is no way that acting men and women can be allowed to make their own decisions. It’s just not right.
note: The overriding need for taxes will stop the state from the final step. Taxes are the state’s consistent cause of its commonplace inconsistencies.
