Government is not very adept at accomplishing it aims, but it is very good at re-defining its objectives. Hence, after a hundred billion spent, tens of thousands of lives lost, no WMDs found, a country terrorized and demolished, political alliances destabilized, new terrorists recruited, and worldwide outrage at US arrogance, Saddam was finally caught thanks to not military intelligence but to a disgrunted ex-wife who wanted the reward money—and we are supposed to celebrate as if this was the sole reason and goal of the war.That leaves two groups to potentially control Iraq: the Islamic fundamentalist faction and the US military.
