Why do the proponents of global warming try to stamp out dissent? As Horner makes clear, billions of dollars are at stake.

Those of us who refuse to accept calls from proponents of global warming for drastic restrictions on production often confront objections like this:You skeptics, blinded by fanatical devotion to the free market, ignore evidence.

People will be strip-mining old landfills for petroleum products that they can convert into fuel.

To put it simply, those who truly want social progress should promote the idea that we should all think locally as individuals and act globally through the capitalist system. This is the creed of the true progressive.

Really smart guys (and now gals too) built impressive models that were quite rigorous in some respects, yet woefully deficient in others. In the case of economics, this hubris led to horrible government policies. We can only hope the same doesn't happen because of the climate models.

Here are inconvenient truths that counter the fallacies of Al Gore's documentary film - An Inconvenient Truth. Man is not causing catastrophic global warming. Carbon Dioxide is the stuff of life, not a pollutant.

Nor should we allow ourselves to be browbeaten by the IPCC carbophobes when they use dubious science and worse economics to make us believe that the entire planet is in imminent danger of a cataclysmic collapse unless we ordinary folk (though, naturally, not the cosseted members of the Green Sanhedrin itself) give up all hope of a better standard of living.

If one's goal is to have a smaller carbon footprint — to say nothing of whether having a smaller carbon footprint is desirable per se — I'm not convinced that eating locally is the way to go.
