The Election is Already Tedious

The Election is Already Tedious

The country now suffers under the biggest spending and regulating presidency of the last half century, so the other party is now proposing an option, according to the  NYT (yes, in a story running on the same day as the one linked by  Klein). Though disagreeing among themselves on finer points, the Democrats are united in believing in the urgent need to...raise taxes, spending, and regulations. This thereby permits the GOP to run again—again!—against “tax-and-spend liberalism.” There’s your choice: two speeds of socialist advance (though which party will get us there quicker is still in dispute).

What is the Mises Institute?

The Mises Institute is a non-profit organization that exists to promote teaching and research in the Austrian School of economics, individual freedom, honest history, and international peace, in the tradition of Ludwig von Mises and Murray N. Rothbard.

Non-political, non-partisan, and non-PC, we advocate a radical shift in the intellectual climate, away from statism and toward a private property order. We believe that our foundational ideas are of permanent value, and oppose all efforts at compromise, sellout, and amalgamation of these ideas with fashionable political, cultural, and social doctrines inimical to their spirit.
