As Martin Armstrong reports, a new version of the venerable board game “Monopoly,” set to be released this summer, carries the subtitle “Ultimate Banking” and is completely cashless. According to the design and technology blog Gizmodo, cash will be “replaced by a tiny ATM to keep track of every last financial transaction.” The new version will prevent players from gaining an unfair advantage by having “a secret stash of cash hidden away.” Rumors are that the new version will endow the game’s banker with newly-added high end properties named Wall Street, Liberty Street, and Maiden Lane along with an option to create a real estate bubble and be bailed out by the Community Chest.
