San Francisco: Haven for Lunatics of All Stripes

San Francisco: Haven for Lunatics of All Stripes

San Francisco is known as the center of lunacy for the Left Coast, but this one takes the cake.  It seems that homeless people are everywhere in that city.  Of course, the folks there blame the federal government for not curing them.  San Franciscans would never think of blaming themselves, since they have passed all sorts of laws from rent controls to setting off huge areas of “green space” that have made housing unaffordable in the Bay Area.  On top of that, local government policies treat street people as semi-celebrities and have showered them with all sorts of goodies.

Now, we have them assaulting a psychiatrist at a convention.  To hear the shrinks discuss the incident, one would think that all we need to do is to pay more taxes and that would solve everything.

What is the Mises Institute?

The Mises Institute is a non-profit organization that exists to promote teaching and research in the Austrian School of economics, individual freedom, honest history, and international peace, in the tradition of Ludwig von Mises and Murray N. Rothbard.

Non-political, non-partisan, and non-PC, we advocate a radical shift in the intellectual climate, away from statism and toward a private property order. We believe that our foundational ideas are of permanent value, and oppose all efforts at compromise, sellout, and amalgamation of these ideas with fashionable political, cultural, and social doctrines inimical to their spirit.
